Turd T-Shirt Thursday: One Person Cared
In times of crisis, there are countless ways people make an effort to offer aid as much as they can to make a difference. It’s a process we are all familiar with, and in this case, one person cared.
The story behind this shirt was not a creation of my own but of a former friend who wanted to give back to the people of Japan in the aftermath of the devastation caused by a tsunami.
It was a project all his own that had little to no support from people whom he thought would be behind something charitable. I wasn’t keen on asking about the details of the profits he was pushing for, but the return was below what he expected. The “Tech Club” at Briarcliffe College didn’t have any Nobel laureates to note that would amplify sales, and the facility didn’t show much concern.
Years later, when I showed him I still had the shirt, he hissed at the sight of it, exposing his human mask, revealing the monster. Its large size made it a great lounge shirt, and its painful white color encouraged me to tye die it to make it even grosser to look at.
One person cared.
