Exorcising Demons With ID! Days 101 to 150

Read it all from the beginning with the first 100 days, click the link to see where it all began!

Day 101

Oh, my arms!

Today’s shoulder, tricep, and bicep routine was no joke, and I got through it by increasing my weights from the previous week. It is just one small step to getting better physically.

I also began my waking, water intake, and meal plan to bring out the beast within.

One more day to go!

Day 102

It’s the end of the first leg of the race to a better physically fit me!

The full-body HIIT was nothing to laugh at. I was soaked in sweat when it was all done, and I look forward to making progress and furthering my results in fitness. My mind is always on this and how to become better at it.

The following 56 days are going to be amazing!

Day 103

Like my previous rest days, I attempt to take a break from any hard workouts on my body unless I feel like I didn’t push myself the last day working out.

I walked around my neighborhood and listened to a few lectures as I tried my best to ease a cramp in my lower quadricep/hamstring/knee area that I know I messed up doing squats like a dummy.

At night before bed, I performed the only magic that makes that pain go away—my trusty foam roller!

Day 104

On the last rest day before I begin LIIFT 4 from the beginning.

I am pushing it all to my limits. I will be working on my full-body mobility and reconsidering restarting Core De Force because I need that burst of cardio at this stage to burn fat and increase my activity levels.

Here are my numbers from LIIFT 4 round one!

Exorcising Demons With ID
All in a 8 Weeks!

Day 105

Week one, day one of LIIFT 4, from the top!

As from the image above, I have to begin again at the weight I have worked myself up to in the program to make any progress.

Chest and triceps got the shit kicked out of them with weight ranging from 12 to 20 pounds to give me that glazed look into the void as cold sweat drips from my pores, wishing it was all over so I could take a shower.

I will do it again TOMORROW!

Day 106

Mother’s Day gains!

Today was like any other, working out my back and biceps as usual to my routine.

No gifts, no dinners, no flowers. When you live with the father of your children who hate women, you get that sort of thing. My lack of standing up for the image I am supposed to be to someone versus who I am as a mother are two entirely different perceptions.

The time I put into anything I do isn’t without reason.

I’m exorcising for a reason.

Day 107

Meal prepping for the week is what will be done on this rest day.

It’s so much work but worth having that go-to meal without a second thought. I have always had a problem with food and what is good or bad for me to consume for energy and protein. Fried foods, salty foods, sweets, and alcohol have all been eliminated from my diet and all by choice. I just gave it up; all cravings shut off like a switch. If only I could push some other things to the curb to improve my lifestyle.

Week one, day three tomorrow!

Day 108

My shoulders need more work.

I managed to push again for most of the weight I ended with during week eight. I enjoy it this time around because I know I’ll keep going heavier. There are many parts I need to work on in that department.

All in good time!

Day 109

Lifting my 20-pound and 30-pound weights in this leg routine was challenging. Mostly because my knee and hamstring have been under stress for the last few weeks, and I held back in my movements. I powered through it all, taking nonessential breaks because I was over-caffeinated.

I will take the well-needed rest I deserve in the next two days.

Day 110

Rest is taken today from the regular movements I would do on this day, like more leg work. I did take a long walk while doing errands.

When I came home and put on the news about people getting shot in the head, possibly at random, but individuals either walking by or on scooters is something I cannot ignore. Growing up near where violent crimes occur daily doesn’t harden you; it makes you want to move away from it faster.

The time is spent meditating and listening to lectures while getting good exercise at the same time. Enough of it was done; now to the actual resting part.

Day 111

I like that my rest day lands on a Friday.

It’s not so enjoyable when that day is also the 13th. IG was flooded with “Friday the 13th” posts that I seriously couldn’t take it anymore. Part of my rest day includes my break from social media, which is very well needed.

Day 112

The beginning of week two has begun!

Chest and triceps were hard but gave me the gains I needed to power through the routine. I felt I wasted my time spent because I didn’t sweat enough. Crazy, I know.

Day 113

The back and biceps days are my favorite days.

My goal is not to have large arms. But if it happens, it happens. This lazy Sunday is the beginning of more lazy days to come since summer vacation is around the corner.

I used to love the summer when my kids were younger babies. Now they’re much more significant and my limited access to transportation to take them to desired local and far locations depresses me to the lowest extent known and felt only by the hopeless and trapped.

The rest I get to take tomorrow is what I’m looking forward to the most.

Day 114

Thankfully I used this rest day for rest!

Still, the mom things had to be done, but I didn’t overdo it because the tasks were smaller than a week before.

My biceps are tight from the other day, and I can’t wait to lift with my shoulders.

Day 115

Tough isn’t even the word to describe this morning’s routine.

In the previous weeks, I would use a long bar with 10-pound weights on each side to give me an estimated 26-pounds to perform shoulder presses and upright rows. In all honesty, it felt like cheating. It was easier to lift, and I know the only way to fix that is to add more weight, which I do not have.

Lifting a combined 15 (this included the 5-pound barbell) in each hand did the job, and it hurt! I also had to lower my weight with front, lateral, and y-raises because doing them with 12-pounds was a struggle.

Tomorrow ends round two of week two with legs HIIT!

Day 116

Week two ends with legs HIIT without weights.

Even though the movements are just as challenging, I prefer doing weighted leg exercises to give my big muscles more to work for, which is the overall goal. In the past, I would have to hold back on intermediate movements because of injury that I one-hundred percent blame myself for due to improper form. I’ve learned enough from my mistakes and recovered in a shorter time.

Rest day will not be a full day of rest, but it’ll get done.

Day 117

A long walk and light grocery shopping were part of the rest day before week three of LIIFT 4.

I attended other errands accordingly. Fortunately, it gave me a moment to think about some things.

Onward!

Day 118

I rested, as my life depended on it today! Cleaning your home doesn’t fall into the rest category, but that is how I get it done.

My diet and newly enforced sleeping pattern have been a great success thus far. LIIFT 4 is going into its third week, and I am delighted with the results. I will be returning to Core De Force after my second round of weight lifting. It gave me a great midsection and helped me build up my upper body when I was really into it. I feel that this time around, I will be able to perform most of the movements with more confidence than before.

More weight and gains are in order at the beginning of week three!

Day 119

Day one of week three of LIIFT 4 got me pushing to all my limits!

It was chest and triceps where I gave myself the challenge and made it through. I feel that my triceps aren’t all that impressive, but performing the tricep push-ups showed me I am improving in some places to make the move and keep up at a quick pace.

Day two will hurt, I guarantee it.

Day 120

My back and biceps are not taking any questions due to them not having to answer anything.

I seriously do not know how I will up any of my weights in the coming weeks due to just pushing the fuck out of everything. I will admit that I could not do 15-pounds each set during the quad sets, but I did it all.

I am happy I don’t have to lift anything for LIIFT 4 tomorrow, but I don’t doubt I’ll end up lifting something.

Day 121

Fifteen thousand steps was considered to be “rest” today.

Day 122

Today was a successful shoulder day in week three of LIIFT 4.

Staying with the same weights that I used last week helped me concentrate on my form and do more of that core squeezing that I often forget about doing while lifting. I understand why people go for those electric devices that stimulate the muscles and define them under the simulation of vigorous hours of working out.

Not my cup of tea! Legs tomorrow!

Day 123

The days that I do legs are when I sincerely wish that I had access to a gym to give these thunder thighs a proper workout.

My twenty-pound and thirty-pound weights did the job instead. The following two rest days will be a mixed bag of resting and doing the usual work-horse duties that are my life.

Stay young and dumb like me.

Day 124

It was one of the best days to rest because I am feeling yesterday’s legs!

Tomorrow will be overcast and a repeat of the same is in order!

Day 125

The after-effects of my journey with legs the days previous have me needing to use my rollers to get these damn muscles back in the right shape to ease the pain.

The funk is accurate today, and I know how it was brought about. I prefer external pain above all else.

Day 126

The start of Week Four of LIIFT 4 is here, and I had no fucking idea I was halfway through for the second time!

The days mold together like a ball of used gum at the end of every school year, and I have no concept of anything. I know I need to keep moving and not stop. The biometer has dropped heavily in the North, and I like the outdoors when it cooperates. Indirectly I’m going to fulfill a goal of jacking up my legs and abs because I am not stepping a foot outside if it’s hotter than hell.

Today is chest and triceps with the same weights as last week. My goal is to get through LIIFT 4 with the best results so I can power through the mixed martial arts exercises that encompass Core De Force. Or I can take another direction and begin Onnit. The real test starts in four weeks.

Day 127

This weekend concluded with a great back and bicep routine with the same weights as last week. The setlists vary; sometimes, it can be quad sets for one week and just two movements with a HIIT component the next. I’m not too fond of it, but the variations help in the long run.

I enjoy weightlifting, but I stopped because of a lack of motivation. And with over one hundred and twenty-seven days of pain, sweat, dieting, and seeing actual results, I still don’t have any fucking motivation.

I’m just the live fast, die young, and leave a pretty corpse type.

Day 128

A good rest day is in order for today.

Some tasks were incomplete yesterday but will be done today. I also have intentions of beginning my journey today with the splits. Simple twenty-minute routines that I need desperately.

A mother’s work is never done.

Day 129

Day three into week four of LIIFT 4 brought shoulders to the party, and it was a fun time!

I didn’t go crazy with my lateral and front lifts, and I kept the same weights from last week to keep my form. I did increase my upright row and shoulder press to see if I could do it, and I could. Yesterday was the beginning of my splits training via a basic app I downloaded. It isn’t extreme because I’m in ‘beginner,’ but the movements are timed just right to stretch the right parts to stay loose. I will be keeping up with this.

Today is suddenly hot as all fuck so that I couldn’t invest any time in a long walk before the workout. Tomorrow is legs HIIT, and it’s good not to have to do the weights this time around!

Day 130

The final day of week four is always legs, and today I’m sore as fuck, as I deserve to be.

Thankful that it’s over and grateful I have two rest days to recover. I have a hot date with a foam roller tonight. It gets all my kinks right.

Day 131

Today wasn’t the rest day that I asked for.

I was given time to let loose about my ill-structured problems and granted the tools to think clearly to resolve them. My list of wants and needs is beginning to become stifling, and I’m still on my way to a tighter ass, in any case.

Day 132

Foam rolling my way to the best rest I’ve had for the week. Tasks were completed with vigor, and I am grateful that it was done without any physical pain.

Tomorrow is the beginning of week five, starting it all from the top, with three weeks before I get into Onnit!

Day 133

I powered through my chest and triceps at the start of week five of LIIFT 4 once again.

It’s getting to that point where I am getting bored of the routine and want to do something else to get my body moving in different ways. I am practicing stretching that directly enhances my ability to do the splits.

Someone’s back will get blown out, and it’s not going to be mine.

Day 134

Week five is mighty fine with back and biceps!

At this point, I am maintaining my previous week’s weights and will continue to do so until the end. I’ve progressed as far as I need to feel as good as I do whenever I lift. Keeping up with it is the most challenging part, but I can do it.

This summer will not be a complete bummer like all the others.

Day 135

Resting will be easy today, and I don’t have the usual tasks that I would have on days like these.

I’m going to enjoy this.

Day 136

Halfway through week five, I feel like I’ve been doing this for the 5th time. This is the actual truth, but I feel how routine this is. The main issue is listening to the same dialogue from the trainer on the television, the same moans and groans from the cast—dirty looks, pushing harder at the last moment, and celebrating all on cue.

I’ll take the movements that I’ve been doing and continue to incorporate them into my daily exercises oriented toward building mobility and toning the flappy parts.

All in good time. Good time.

Day 137

Wait until I add on the weight on them legs!

On the last day of week five of legs and this one left a dent. Even though my median weight threshold is a combined 30-pound dumbbell for specific movements, I know when I go heavier, my legs will get torn up!

I am looking forward to the two days of rest and the final stretch of LIIFT 4!

Day 138

As this week presses on, the rest I got today was literal. My children were home on a scheduled day off, and I got my rest!

Day 139

Meal prepping is one of the best pro tips you can be given in life.

Sometimes, the only con is that you have to make all the meals yourself. Although I like that I can cook and have the means to do so, and I am very thankful for that, it is hard as a motherfucker to find the drive to do it.

But it got done! The word “rest” does not exist today. I almost broke 20,000 steps, and it felt like I was bionic. What isn’t a robotic feeling is the exhaustion I’m experiencing.

Tomorrow is the last round of week six. I cannot wait to get this the fuck over with!

Day 140

Week six of LIIFT 4 is the last week when all movements are in order of Chest-Triceps-Back-Biceps-Shoulders-Legs. In my opinion, the previous two weeks are the best and should have begun at week four and not week seven.

Of course, when I began again for the second time, it had gotten past me to do just that. Getting it over with is my main goal and then moving on to other movements my body could benefit from.

All of it was just as you expected.

Day 141

Day two of week six has been dragging my ass down to the hottest I haven’t been to in some years.

Today has been fourteen days since I began splits straining or just overall flexibility training through a cheap ass application that is riddled with advertisements. I can’t say that I can almost do a split, but the workouts are great to be doing in general.

Once LIIFT 4 is over and done with, taking its place will be “Lose Belly Fat Workout,” “Dumbbell Workout,” and “Butt Workout.” Each is just what I need to breeze through doing during the summer home.

Tomorrow will be a day of physical rest, but not mental.

Day 142

It was a one-hundred percent day of rest, with light shopping along the way.

I have to decide tonight if I want to perform double, shoulders, and legs, just so the day that lands on the last day of LIIFT 4 isn’t wasted.

Decisions, decisions.

Day 143

It was a tough choice, but I managed to do both shoulders and legs!

It was easier to go through because the legs were all HIIT with zero weights. It was an excellent time to lunge and squat, like any other time. I know I’ll be feeling all of this in due time as the day progresses, but I don’t give a damn. I’m getting this giggly vessel in the best shape of its life.

So much jelly to spread all over your bread.

Day 144

My heart was filled with so much joy today.

I took the time to enjoy, although ornery, the time with the first half of my heart that has grown up to be the 11-year-old I once was.

Day 145

Today’s rest day became a day to start the process of cleaning out my sons’ room. The school year is winding down, and with them being home soon for the summer, this task would have been impossible with interference and endless gripe from the youngest of the two.

I am assured nothing will be missed, although my work is still not over.

Day 146

It’s the final day of whatever the fuck rest means to me.

The immense task at hand can be managed when the time is taken with ease. Tomorrow begins the final weeks of my LIIFT 4 journey, not ending my time with weights. I will start a shorter and more convenient routine to accommodate the time home. I’ve acquired an adjustable kettlebell that I am very excited to be using soon.

Let the gains begin!

Day 147

Week seven of LIIFT 4 is the start of shred week, and it is a burner.

It began with chest and back, lifting the heaviest weights I’m used to in quad sets. This is the part of the challenge when I take my time. The entire process should take 35 to 40 minutes to complete turns into an hour or more because my body and mind are used to this pattern. Taking my time and slowly lifting a 30-pound dumbbell for my pullover is one of the reasons for my slow and steady pace. I don’t want muscles now; I want to maintain them and build them up in other ways, so I will never stop moving.

Along with LIIFT 4, I am 20+ days along with “splits” training. It’s one of the best things I could have ever begun in my years of unmotivated and non-goal-oriented exercise routines where I just wanted to “not be fat.” The beginner phase is almost complete, then intermediate, and lastly advanced.

Tomorrow’s day two of week seven is unknown to me because it’s all over the place, and that’s a good thing.

Day 148

Today was surprise legs in LIIFT 4!

Although this is not my first ride with Lift and HIIT, the adjustment and combinations of the routines should have been modified and began earlier in the week and not in the last two weeks. My legs took all the weight with weighted legs, and it was tough.

Adjusting my focus on my lower body is my intention.
You can see it from the front; wait until you see it from the back.

On my scheduled rest day tomorrow, I may take the time to do day three’s routine today because of an occasion that is early in the morning but not as early as not to work out the way I’d like. Ultimately, the pain will be the same, no matter what day I do it.

Day 149

“Fuck you, rest day!”

Yeah, I broke down and performed my routine of ten movements and ten reps of shoulders and arms before going grocery shopping.

I pre-gamed by writing down the set list instead of being tied down by the video, taking it all at my own pace. I crushed it, as usual.

My time tomorrow will be full of me applauding and keeping my phone glued to my hand, taking tons of videos and pictures of the day, and totally not crying. You will though.

Day 150

I do not understand how I have chronic pain in my left hamstring when I am confident I’m performing my routines correctly. At this point, my stretching will never be in vain, but to combat this once and for all. It’s not non-functional or renders me incapable of my daily routine, but it isn’t enjoyable.

My problem is that I do not rest. I have no time to do that in this life. I had to have been on my feet more than a mascot at an amusement park. Though prepping my meals for the week and trying out new recipes is never a waste of time, I’m feeling the effects more and more.

All good things begin, and the bad things must end.

Keep up with the rest of the butt blasting at Exorcising Demons With ID!
