Sing Me A Song: Mariah Carey – Always Be My Baby
“A Song That Reminds You Of Summertime”

Damn, this song released from her album Daydream in 1995 was the song of the summer in Brooklyn when I was 10.
MTV’s Total Request Live wasn’t a thing yet, so VH1 was the first to drop popular songs from pop artists at the time. Her voice was unmatched by others that I liked at the time, but then again, most of the music I listened to was on the radio. I only knew a handful of songstresses, but she stood out.
I remember hearing this song sung by a girl while attending day camp. She sang it acapella and had the entire gymnasium full of kids 6 to 13 singing with her. It was the last day, and had the mic open to whoever wanted to do anything. I’m glad she sang that song. I will never forget it.
