This Book Has Worms In It!: A Boy and His Dog At The End Of The World By C.A. Fletcher
I’m going to be honest.
I only bought this book based on its title and cover art. The title alone reminded me of Harlan Ellison’s short story “A Boy and His Dog” and the 1975 film “A Boy and His Dog” adaption of the same name. But I don’t do any research to any degree when all I want to do is get my read on.
This is the first Charlie Fletcher novel I’ve read/listened to that was amazingly narrated by the author himself, which made the storytelling experience a lot more exciting, in my opinion.
I can’t say too much about it, as the title does set the overall mood. It begins with a family who’s been around for as long as humanly possible and surviving as we humans do. The degrees of conflict, what the protagonist faces and learns are all expertly laid out for you to live and breathe the events right there with them. I thought I knew what I was in for as the story went along, but it genuinely surprised me.
It was a great story to listen to. I would definitely re-read this one.
You can find C.A. Fletcher and all his works online or where ever books are sold.
