Turd T-Shirt Thursday: Dialing One Happy Camper

Rocko, Ren, Stimpy, Arnold, CatDog, and some Angry Beavers are what kids needed to laugh at in the 1990s. I don’t remember a day going by without me watching Nickelodeon and their sex-starved, passive-aggressive animated stars dail up happy campers in all of us.

I wasn’t lying when I said I’d never been to a camp before. It wasn’t something I think I’d enjoy. I thought it was something my parents wouldn’t allow me to do would be the truth. Well, that didn’t restrict them from having me attend a day camp offered at the college across the street from my home. I had tons of fun. It was fun, lots of body shaming and teasing in 100 fucking degree weather.

Do you know what would have been a lot more fun?

Suppose I had the characters in my awesome Camp Nick shirt that I got in another Nick Box offered by CultureFly at my camp. It’s such a comfortable shirt and gives me incredible memories of the shows I watched as a kid. I was more of a Ren and Stimpy fan than anything. I cried, and I mean bawled when the show ended. Years later, when DVDs were invented, I had the opportunity to purchase them all and the Adult Party Cartoon ones that premiered on Spike TV. That was over 15 years ago, and I still can’t watch those DVDs. I’m no angel, but damn.

Along with this box came a Camping Rocko vinyl figure. He was the most cutest thing there was. I think I sent him to a good home.
