Lost In The Heat Of It All: Frank Ocean – Lost
Do you know how long you’ve been walking around with your eyes closed? When did the realization come to you that you’ve been lost in the heat of it all?
Finesse is an intricate skill. To admit that this is a skill that I have makes me sound like a sociopath. The terms I’m referring to are the art of pursuing a territory I shouldn’t be fooling about in the first place.
I came across Frank Ocean’s works after randomly remembering Adele saying that she wished Frank would release new work while she was on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The only song I would listen to on repeat was “Chanel,” limiting my knowledge of his lyrical poetry of longing, lust, love, and loss.
“Lost” grabbed me with its beat first and foremost. After listening to the lyrics, I can’t say other than singing along that the words have me somewhat at a loss. I do admire the admiration at the attention Frank gives women. As beautiful as we are on the outside, our insides need attention too.
When you admit you like someone, you should do it with finesse.
