Every cool guy needs a cool girl to hang with at camp. I tired Budnick. It was love at first sight with that gorgoious red hair, but he had his eyes on Dina. Being so down in the dumps, I got swept off my feet-by Zeke of all people. I need my pipes cleaned, so the Lord sent me Zeke.
I wasn’t feeling spooky season like the masses since my life is pure concentrated horror year-round. But before that new year forces me to kiss the curb into 2022, I took 48 or so minutes out of my night to rewatch a show about a place I genuinely wish I went to as a youth; Camp Anawanna and the crew from “Salute Your Shorts.”
This show had a bunch of characters who I know if they were part of my life, would have made a massive impact in it. Nickelodeon at the time had a way of creating wholesome content that would outdo anything that proceeded it. In no way, shape, or form is this show hard to watch again. I still remember watching this at home as a kid and not blinking so I wouldn’t miss a second of it.
The episode containing my main squeeze pillow Zeke, was in episode 2 of the second season, as told by Budnick about Camp Anawanna’s history. Zeke cleaned the toilets at Camp Anawanna, but before that, he was in the army. He suffered an unfortunate accident; a parrot bit off his nose while in the Philipines on assignment. Well, while at camp, Zeke hit a gas pipe and got blown up. Ever since then I every time I saw a plunger, I’d weep.
Years later, my sorrows were turned into smiles when I got my Zeke the Plumber T-shirt! The other day an honest plumber told me to take the shirt off and give it to them (true. fucking. story.). My dreams soon became haunted, and I needed a buddy there to hold in my arms because I’m not too fond of human touch. Horror Decor Official came through, and I screamed when he flashed before my screen. He is large and in charge of my bedside; he watches me sleep all night every night. I don’t mind that he wears the mask. I wear one all the time too.
